Huntingdon County-based state police investigated a three-vehicle accident on State Route 453, just north of Route 22 in Morris Township on Feb. 1 at 2:27 p.m.
The crash happened when vehicles operated by 20-year-old Anthony Moist of Tyrone, 43-year-old Evangeline Sheeler of Mount Union and 27-year-old Karen Richards of Tyrone were traveling south on Route 453.
Richards stopped her vehicle because of a vehicle stopped in front of her. Sheeler came to a stop behind Richards’ vehicle. Moist’s vehicle came up from behind Sheeler’s vehicle and rear-ended it. At that point, Sheeler’s vehicle hit Richards’ vehicle in the rear.
Moist and Sheeler were wearing seat belts and were not hurt. Richards and two passengers, 48-year-old James Richards and 49-year-old Sharon Richards were wearing seat belts and suffered minor injuries. Juniata Valley Ambulance personnel transported them all to Tyrone Hospital.
Police planned to charge Moist with a traffic violation. Richards’ vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
