Louise H. Stonebraker, 88, formerly of 561 Washington Ave., Tyrone, and a resident of Epworth Manor for the past year, died at Epworth Manor Saturday morning, February 11, 2006.
She was born June 23, 1917 in Altoona, a daughter of Harry B. and Ida Maye (Bratton) Gartner.
She was married June 24, 1939 in Tyrone, to Merle E. Stonebraker who died April 20, 1990.
She is survived by a daughter, Merle Louise Ammerman and her husband Don of Tyrone; a son, David A. Stonebraker and his wife Gail of Quakertown and a daughter, Susan M. Thimlar and her husband James of Elkhart, Ind.; seven grandchildren: Wendy, Kelly and Desiree Ammerman, Harold and David Stonebraker and Rachel and Cori Thimlar; two great-grandchildren: Austin and Tyler Stonebraker; three nieces and two nephews: Sherry McCall (Norm) of Mill Hall, Melanie Rhoades (Don) of Landsdale, Jo-Ellen Metzger (Joe) of Allentown, Robert Gartner of Arizona and Ken Gartner of New Jersey.
She was the last of her immediate family of six.
She was a member of the Tyrone First Presbyterian Church where she was active in the former Ethel Lewis and Margaret Baldrige Sunday School classes. She was a graduate of Tyrone High School in 1937 and was a homemaker.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Tyrone First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Robert Dunkelberger officiating. Interment will be in Eastlawn Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and one hour before the service at the Presbyterian Church.
Should friends desire, contributions in her memory may be made to Skills Adult Development Center, 2101 8th Ave., Altoona or to the Epworth Manor Benevolent Fund, Tyrone.
