Two exciting events are in the planning stages for Tyrone area residents.
First, a Family Fun Blast is scheduled for Saturday, May 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Tyrone Area High School.
The Rotary Club of Tyrone and Blair County Communities That Care are teaming up to collaborate with area agencies, businesses, organizations, and individuals to organize a Family Fun Blast in celebration of “National Mental Health Awareness Month”.
This event will help promote healthier relationships between parents, children and community members. Families will enjoy the opportunity to interact in a safe supportive environment, learn to make healthier decisions, and have a fun and rewarding experience.
If any individual, organization or business would like to participate, or volunteer in this event, contact Rose Black, Tyrone Area Chamber office at 684-0736 or Gunter Volders, Family Services Incorporated at 944-3583 ext. 333.
Also, the Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce is happy to announce that Tyrone Community Night at the Altoona Curve is scheduled for May 13.
Curve game tickets will be available starting March 27 at the Chamber office and Gardners Candies. Tickets will be $5 each. For groups of 25 or more, contact the Chamber office for a special rate.
The game is scheduled to start at 5:05 p.m. against the Binghamton Mets.
Tyrone Mayor Jim Kilmartin and Chamber President Fran Brunhuber are scheduled to throw out the first pitch. Also, there will be fireworks, contests and other entertainment by local residents. “God Bless America” will be sung by TAHS students.
A fun evening is being planned for all in attendance.
