Dorothy Doehne “Dottie” Strohm, of Middletown, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at the Harrisburg Hospital.
She was the wife of David E. Strohm.
Born in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Edward F. and Dorothy Ellen Baldwin Doehne. She was a graduate of Susquehanna High School and the Philadelphia College of Art.
Dottie had worked as fashion coordinator for the former Pomeroys Department Store, Trans World Airlines and retired from the U.S. Customs Service at Harrisburg International Airport.
Dottie was a member of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, Middletown and enjoyed reading classical music and art. Dottie devoted most of her time and energy serving as an aide at the Middletown Public Library.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a son, Thomas F. Strohm of Claymont, DE; two grandchildren, Jeremy and Olivia Lee; a brother, Dr. Edward F. Doehne, III, M.D. and his wife Audrey of Woodland, CA; two nieces and two nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan “Susie” Armold in 2001.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Dottie’s Life Celebration from St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, Ann and Grant Sts., Middletown on Thursday, April 27, 2006 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Katherine Harrigan, her pastor, officiating. Interment will be held on Friday, April 28, 2006 at 11 a.m. at East Lawn Cemetery, Tyrone.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Coble-Reber Funeral Home, Middletown.
