A Cambria County judge has sentenced George Lightcap to five-and-a-half to 20 years for aggravated assault in the death last year of Tyrone Fire Chief Ray E. Stringer.
Lightcap was also sentenced this morning on an involuntary manslaughter conviction that carries a lesser sentence. Cambria County assistant DA Gary Costlow said the sentences would be concurrent. Lightcap was also sentenced for a unrelated drug conviction that will be served concurrently with the other sentences.
Stringer died after a bar fight in Nanty Glo last August. A complete story will appear in Wednesday’s Daily Herald.
