With the temperatures reaching the high 80s and low 90s for the next couple of days, the Tyrone Community Pool will be a popular spot for area residents to visit.
Pool hours run from noon until 8 p.m.
Season passes are currently available at the Tyrone Borough office. Fees for season passes for Tyrone Borough residents are as follows: Family passes $70, adult passes are $50, and all senior citizen, disabled, and youth passes are $40.
Season passes for non-residents of Tyrone Borough are as follows: Family passes $95, adult passes are $75, and all senior citizen, disabled, and youth passes are $65.
Family swimming is open to the public. Families can bring their favorite water toys and enjoy a day of family fun. Admission to family swim for the general public is $5 for adults 18 and over, $4 for swimmers ages 6-17 years of age and children age 5 and under are free when accompanied with a paying adult.
There will also be special evening rates. Daily admission rates from 6-8 p.m. for the general public will be $2 for adults 18 and over, $1 for swimmers 6-17 years of age and children age 5 and under are free when accompanied with a paying adult.
Lap swimming is open to anyone interested. Lap swimming will be circle-swimming style in two of the lanes. The rest of the pool will be open for general swimming. It is up to the discretion of the guards to open or close lap lanes based upon the number of lap swimmers and pool attendance. The hours for lap swimming will be Monday through Friday from noon to 1 p.m. and Monday and Friday from 7 to 8 p.m.
The pool is also available for private parties on Wednesday evenings from 6-8 p.m. All parties must be pre-registered. The concession stand will be available upon request. Finger foods, cake, ice cream, etc. are permitted. However, no grilling or glass containers will be allowed in the pool area.
