Family Services Incorporated will be offering free training classes on domestic violence starting on Monday, July 10. The classes will be every Monday evening from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. for 10 consecutive weeks (excluding Labor Day).
“We take great pride in our elaborate training program,” said Jessica Imler, Volunteer Coordinator for Family Services. “All Family Services Domestic Abuse Project volunteers and employees go through this 45-hour training before they are able to work directly with domestic violence victims.”
Volunteers help answer Family Services’ 24 hour victim hotline and staff the domestic abuse shelter and protection for abuse office at the Blair County court house.
Volunteers completing this training program will receive a JARS (Justice Autonomy Restoration and Safety) certificate. The JARS certificate is recognized by the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence (PCADV).
For more information and to sign up for these free training classes, contact Jessica Imler at 944-3583 ext. 345 or by email at jimler@familyservicesinc.net.
