Swim clinic
A Swim Clinic will be held at the Tyrone Area High School pool, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Fridays, for grades fourth-12th, there is no charge.

Athletes in Action
The Warriors Mark UM Church Youth Group will host the Penn State University branch of Athletes in Action on Wednesday, September 13 during their 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. youth meeting time.
Athletes in Action is the athletic branch of Campus Crusade for Christ International and exist to reach worldwide those influenced by sports. The ministry has a fourfold objective: win athletes to Christ, build them in their faith and knowledge of Christ, train them for ministry and send them in turn to win, build, train and send others. At the Penn State University Park Campus, AIA was founded in 1979. One of the services they provide to the community is speaking to churches about who Christ is and how He’s impacted the athlete’s life. Class of 1946
The Tyrone High School class of 1946 will hold a luncheon meeting at Tyrone Pizza Hut on Wednesday, September 13 at 12:30 p.m.
Final plans for the 60th reunion will be discussed.
All classmates and guests are invited to attend.
Chicago Rivet retirees
The Chicago Rivet retirees will hold their monthly breakfast at Joe’s Place at 8:30 a.m.
Meetings are scheduled for the rest of the year, including September 14, October 12, November 9 and December 14.
Evening with the Arts
An Evening with the Arts, sponsored by the Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce, will have art exhibits and artists displayed at three locations. On September 14, start at the Tyrone-Snyder Public Library for appetizers then go on to Burley’s Restaurant for dinner and finally wrap up the evening at Gardner’s Ice Cream Parlor for coffee or tea and dessert, all while previewing the local talent. All members and guests of the Tyrone High School class of 1943 are invited to meet for lunch on Thursday, September 14 at noon at Ponderosa, Altoona. Please plan to attend.
TYBA accepting nominations
Tyrone Youth Baseball Association will be accepting nominations for six open board positions at the Thursday, Sept. 14 meeting held at the Bull Pen Meeting Room starting at 7 p.m. Elections for these positions will be held on Thursday, Sept. 28 between 7 and 8 p.m. at the Bull Pen. Anyone who is a current member in good standing with TYBA is eligible to run for the board. All interested persons can attend the monthly meetings.
Sight and Sound Theatre trip
The Warriors Mark United Methodist Church is sponsoring a trip to the Sight and Sound Theaters in Lancaster for the “Miracle of Christmas” show on Tuesday, November 14.
Stirring live vocals performed by a cast of 60, live animals, magnificent staging and special effects, and a heart-soaring finale highlights this joyfully reverent tribute to the birth of “God with us”, Immanuel.
