A Blair County equestrian group has planned a special event designed to help benefit the animals at the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society and they’re inviting the horse-riding public to take part.
The event has a new name and a new date.
Members of the Logan Valley Broncs, a horse riding club based in Bellwood, have organized the “Trails for Tails” ride set for Sunday, October 8. Riders will gather at the clubhouse and head out on the ride starting at 9:30 a.m. Entry fee for the ride is $20 and will include a spaghetti dinner after the ride at the clubhouse and prize drawings. Non-riders may also attend and enjoy seeing the many horses “up close and personal.”
Riders and/or non-riders can find sponsor/sign-up forms at area tack shops such as A & J Tack Shop (Bellmead) and the Silver Stirrup (Maple Hollow).
Event organizer Penny Prough says anyone is welcome to attend. Riders must provide their own horses which can be trailored (or ridden) to the club located a short distance from downtown Bellwood heading towards Blandburg. Prough is also encouraging any interested businesses to sponsor the ride.
For details or to register for the ride, contact Penny Prough at 329-5547 or Dave Hopkins at 942-2477.
