The holidays are fast approaching and the Presbyterian Homes’ Auxiliary has a special day planned to help individuals get into the holiday spirit, while enjoying a fun day of shopping.
The Auxiliary will hold its annual holiday bazaar on Saturday, November 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the brand new personal care building, The Heights at Windy Hill Village, 250 Dogwood Drive, Philipsburg. There is plenty of free parking.
The home will also be conducting tours so the community can see the wonderful new addition.
Throughout the day there will be a variety of items for sale including beautiful and unique handmade crafts and needlework. There will be plenty of food also, baked goods, candies and jellies, pumpkin rolls, and the Auxiliary’s homemade cheese balls.
The lunch menu will include the Auxiliary’s homemade vegetable soup and chicken and corn chowder as well as sloppy joes, hot dogs, sauerkraut, drinks and desserts.
Sloppy joe mix and soup by the quart will also be available to take and enjoy at home.
As a special treat, Santa will once again make an appearance at the bazaar. He is scheduled to arrive at 11 a.m. and will be available until 2 p.m. for photos with kids of all ages. So, don’t forget a camera.
Also back this year is the quilt raffle. Individuals will have the opportunity to win an exquisite handmade quilt, Christmas wreath, Christmas tree skirt or one of the other beautiful prizes. There will also be a silent auction ending at 1 p.m. for a fabulous one-of-a-kind handmade “Red Hat Lady” bear, complete with red hat, purple dress and jewelry.
The Presbyterian Homes’ Auxiliary holiday bazaar provides a great day for shopping, socializing and helps prepare individuals for the holiday season.
All proceeds from this event go directly to benefit the residents of the Presbyterian Homes.

Residents formerly living at the Presbyterian Home of Moshannon Heights now make their home at “The Heights” at Windy Hill Village, consolidating the full range of retirement and senior services offered onto one neighborhood-style campus.
