Members of the Tyrone Kiwanis Club will conduct their 11th annual coat drive on Saturday, November 25 from 9 a.m. to noon in the Reclamere parking lot on Pennsylvania Avenue.
Please note the new collection site.
All area residents of the Bellwood, Tyrone and Warriors Mark communities who have coats and boots they no longer need are asked to visit Reclamere parking lot on Saturday to donate these coats and boots.
Items needed include: infant, children and adult coats, winter hats, boots, mittens and gloves.
Children’s coats and boots are always needed in all sizes.
All coats and boots collected will be used exclusively for the local needy families in the Tyrone Kiwanis Club service area to assist in the upcoming winter months. The Kiwanis wanted to stress that all of the coats and boots collected will go towards local families and will not leave this local area as long as there is a family in need.
In addition, the Tyrone Kiwanis Club announced they will also be taking donations of new unwrapped toys to be distributed to local families during the upcoming Christmas holiday season.
All items collected will be distributed locally through the Salvation Army Service Unit.
After the drive on Saturday, the Tyrone Kiwanis Club will load the coats and toys and place them into a truck donated by Healthy Alternatives of Tyrone.
The Tyrone Kiwanis Club members want to thank the local residents for the outstanding response they have provided in the past for the drives. The Club knows the local community will come through again this year for local families and friends.
