Josh Kleinfelter and Tyler Narehood lead a group of 11 First Team All-Star selections on the 2006 Inter-County Conference All-Star list for Nittany Division champ Bellwood-Antis.
The three-time defending division champion Blue Devils had the most selections to the first team, followed by Penns Valley with eight picks, Chestnut Ridge had six, Bishop Guilfoyle had four selections and Mount Union had two.
Kleinfelter notched his third straight First Team offensive selection as running back, while Narehood is a two-time defensive line choice, after being named to the Honorable Mention list as a sophomore. Kleinfelter also was selected to the defensive team for the second straight year as a defensive back.
B-A senior Evan Celmo was name to the Special Teams unit as place kicker and Devon Clapper was named as a defensive back, both for the second straight year, and junior Brandon Humphreys moves up from the Honorable Mention list to First Team kick returner in 2006.
Other Blue Devils honored with First Team selections included Blaze Winterstein, who was selected at tight end, Josh Peters and Chad Coho were picked on the offensive line, Anthony Jenkins made the defensive side at end and Jon Davila was chosen at linebacker.
Senior quarterback Evan Hughes, a first team selection in 2005, was named to the Honorable Mention list this year and Bruno DeGol was selected Honorable Mention at linebacker.
Bellwood-Antis will continue their season on Saturday at Mansion Park when the Blue Devils play Juniata Valley in the D-6A championship game. Game time has been moved from 7 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the afternoon, at the request of both teams.
Southern Huntingdon, the Blue Devils’ District 6-A semifinal opponent last week, also had 11 First Team picks to lead the ICC Southern Division All-Stars. Northern Bedford had nine selections, Tussey Mountain had five Claysburg-Kimmel gad two and Everett one.
In the ICC Mountain Division, Bellwood-Antis championship foe Juniata Valley and B-A quarterfinal opponent Glendale each garnered the most First Team selections with nine. Moshannon Valley, under first year head coach Murray Fetzer, a Tyrone grad, received eight First Team selections. West Branch had four picks and Williamsburg had one selection.
A total of seven of the 15 ICC schools qualified for the district playoffs, with Bellwood-Antis battling the Hornets for the championship on Saturday afternoon..
