The Musical Theater Ministry of Pleasant Valley Assembly of God, Altoona, presents “I\\\’ll Be Home For Christmas”, a Broadway-style dramatic musical comedy production about family, and hope in the golden days of radio.
Dates are December 8, 9 and 10 at 7 p.m. each evening, with a matinee at 2 p.m. on the 9th. All seats are reserved and tickets are $4. Call 944-1948 to reserve your ticket or stop by the church office located at 800 Valley View Blvd. (near Dairy Queen).
The time era is set in 1941 just before the bombing of Pearl Harbor and the U.S. entrance into WW II. The musical captures the optimistic \\\”can do\\\” wholesomeness of the times. You\\\’ll find your feet tapping, your heart full of laughter, and even some tears in your eyes. You will enjoy the jazzy sounds of swing during the big bands era of Glen Miller, the Christmas musical styles of Bing Crosby, Perry Como, and Lawrence Welk. Featuring live broadcasts from Fibber McGee & Molly, the Lone Ranger, the Shadow, Andrew Sisters and Jack Benny.
\\\”I\\\’ll Be Home For Christmas\\\” is a touching story of hope and community, and how we all can rediscover the Prince of Peace at Christmastime no matter what our circumstances.
Pleasant Valley Assembly of God has been an integral part of performing musical theater ministry for more than 20 years in Blair County. The cast and crew come from different churches and denominations from all over the county, including Tyrone. Tickets can also be obtained at the door.
