Last evening, newly-elected State Representative Mike Fleck visited the residents and supervisors at the Snyder Township meeting.
Supervisors approved Fleck’s lease agreement to rent the office space in the township building at a cost of $250 a month, which was the site of former State Representative Larry Sather’s Tyrone office as well.
Fleck said at the meeting he hoped the office would be up and running in January and that his office would be open on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays.
During the public comment period of the meeting, supervisors listened to residents’ concerns over junkyard compliance issues and about two petitions that went missing from the township office in September.
Also, chairman of the board, Charles Diehl, announced that township sewer enforcement officer Bill Gohn submitted his letter of resignation to the township, effective December 31. Also, Fred Thomas submitted his resignation from the township’s planning commission, effective December 31.
In other business, supervisors voted to:
• pay the final installment to Bald Eagle Fire Company for the 2006 donation in the amount of $12,800 and
• approve the application process for both the Growing Greener and CDBG grant money.
There is a special meeting scheduled for December 15 at 7 p.m. to adopt the township budget for 2007 and to conduct any other general business.
