Sinking Valley Grangers met on November 15. A Thanksgiving buffet was served at 6 p.m. followed by a meeting at 7 p.m.
Lecturer Elizabeth Deihl presented a Thanksgiving program. Afterwards, the Grangers honored Louise Pearson, a 65 year member of the Sinking Valley Grange. Louise Pearson has been very active in Grange activities over the years. These activities included pianist at Sinking Valley Grange and at Blair County Pamona Grange, serving dinners at the hall and she served on the initiation team for new members.
Louise’s dedication to the Grange has been very commendable over the 65 years. Mrs. Pearson received a 65 year pin, seal and a congratulatory letter from State Grange Master Betsy Huber.
Louise Pearson was married for 38 years to the late Clyde Pearson. They had two children, Robert and Kathy and three grandchildren.
Louise enjoyed working as a custodian for Wesley United Methodist Church in Tyrone for 35 years. She now works for the Senior Companion Program and volunteers at Epworth Manor.
