Children participating in the Park Avenue Playground Program and their directors recently held a check presentation at the playground. During the first ever Walk-A-Thon organized by the Park Avenue Playground Program, the children raised a grand total of $1,300. The children were originally going to donate half of the money to the Children’s Room at the Tyrone-Snyder Public Library and keep half to benefit the playground program. However, since the sum of money they raised was larger than anticipated, they decided to donate $1,000 to the Library Children’s Room instead. Library Interim Director Judie Adams was on hand to accept the donation and thanked the children and their directors for their generosity. Adams said the donation will probably be used to purchase a new computer for the Children’s Room. (The Daily Herald/Mark Raffetto)
