Amy passed away unexpectedly on December 14, 2006 in Smithville, Tennessee.
Born September 9, 1986 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, she is survived by her loving mother, Jean Davidson, of Houston, Texas, her loving father, Carl Davidson, of Los Gatos, California, her brother, Robert Davidson, of Santa Clara, California, grandmother Gladys Steimel, of Dexter, Missouri, niece Hazel Davidson, of Yuba City, California, step-family Kathleen, Matthew, and Jennifer Hahn, of Los Gatos, California, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, and many friends.
A 2005 graduate of The Grier School, an all-girls high school in Tyrone, Pennsylvania, Amy was a Sophomore at Tennessee Technical University\’s Appalachian Center for Craft, in Smithville, where she worked in the office and gallery, while pursuing her studies toward a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Fibers. Amy had a soft spot in her heart for children, and for helping people. She hoped to someday use crafts as a vehicle for working with disabled children.
Amy loved weaving, knitting, crochet, books, movies, and music. She studied the cello at an early age, and later the violin and piano. In high school, Amy enjoyed lighting theatrical and dance productions.
For one so young, Amy was well traveled. In 1996, Amy spent two weeks in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico with her mother, doing volunteer work with her church. In 2004, she toured Spain, Portugal, and Morocco with her high school Spanish class. That summer, Amy toured Australia and New Zealand with her father and members of the Hahn family.
Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri was in charge of the arrangements.
A private memorial service has been held.
