Reliance Bank, in conjunction with the Board of Directors of the Tyrone Area YMCA, recently donated the scoreboard and two backboards/rims that were formerly located in the YMCA gymnasium for use at the Northern Blair Recreation Center.
YMCA board member Pete Dutrow indicated the YMCA board was grateful to Reliance Bank and looked forward to the continued use of the equipment.
Dutrow stated, “Due to the unfortunate physical condition of the YMCA building, the youth of northern Blair County have been limited in their access to a gym for their recreation. As always, our priority is to serve the children of our community. We believe this donation to the Northern Blair County Recreation Center will permit the highest number of children the most usage. On behalf of the YMCA board, I express our thanks to Reliance Bank.”
In a prepared statement, the Northern Blair Recreation Commission Board of Directors stated, “On behalf of the Northern Blair Recreation Center, we are very grateful to this donation from Reliance Bank and the YMCA board. The new addition, including the gymnasium, was recently completed and the gym flooring just arrived. This donation will allow us to get our youth and adult basketball leagues up and running almost immediately.
“Thanks to the generosity of Reliance Bank and the YMCA board, we are looking forward to continuing serving the needs of the youth and adult community in northern Blair County through the non-profit recreation center. We invite all residents of northern Blair County to stop in and view the facility and/or contact the Rec Center at 742-9500 with any questions.”
