For the past five years, Faces and Places Ministries has been dedicated to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ through creative art forms including plays and dinner theaters among other things.
In those five years, Faces and Places has ministered the gospel in over 250 churches, to over 15,000 people and over 2,500 children.
Faces and Places founder, Drew Baker recently said, “When we as a ministry look at these numbers, we know God is working in miraculous ways.”
As usual, the group is currently working on many projects, including a move into their new building, Faces and Places Ministries Center for the Christian Arts, located at 954 Logan Avenue, and of course, preparations for the upcoming spring production.
Also something new this year, Faces and Places Ministries will begin hosting coffeehouses the first Friday of each month. The first will be held tomorrow from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
The coffeehouses will include creative testimony sharing through Christian bands, speakers, and ministers.
Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy a night of Christian fellowship.
The ministry will have food items for sale to help with the cost of the facility. All other events included in this evening are free. For more information or to minister at the coffeehouse, contact 932-4085.
Also, the group is still casting the spring musical which will be “David, A Man After God’s Own Heart,” written by Cam Floria.
The production, a sprawling epic of an ancient time summed up in one man’s life-King David, is set to take the stage in May.
A dramatic musical production for the church, “David” will inspire, motivate and challenge those in attendance.
The story follows the life of David from a teen to his death. It will take the audience on a journey, narrated by Samuel, the prophet, which will cause them to realize why this man was call “A Man After God’s Own Heart”.
Featured titles from this musical include “O Jerusalem”, “The Lord Is My Shepherd”, “Our Great God and King” and “Unbelievable Love”.
For interested individuals, Faces and Places Ministries is currently scheduling auditions for this production. Mark your calendar for 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 4, when the auditions will be held at the new building on Logan Avenue.
