Miss Billie Gladys Matts, 88, of 187 E. Hannah Lane, Port Matilda, Pa. died Friday morning, March 2, 2007 at the home of her sister, Beatrice Hosband.
She was born August 21, 1918 in Tyrone, a daughter of William Ray and Alma (Walk) Matts.
She is survived by two sisters: Beatrice P. Hosband and her husband Gerald and Dolores Weaver of Port Matilda; 18 nieces and nephews and eight great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Mary Adeline.
She was a member of the Hannah Methodist Church and was very active at Sunday School.
She was a graduate of Port Matilda High School and a lifetime member of the Bald Eagle and Port Matilda Fire Companies.
She was a member of Fowler Grove and always enjoyed bingo.
She retired as a supervisor from Warnaco Co. in Altoona after 32 years service.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone.
Interment will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, RD Port Matilda.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.
