The Central Pennsylvania Humane Society is hoping to attract some fun-seeking vacationers to sail away on a special cruise this coming November. The organization is undertaking a “Cruise for the Animals” in conjunction with Carnival Cruise Lines and Ketrow Travel.
“The public is invited to a special ‘Cruise Night’ get together we’re throwing on Thursday, May 17 at the Bavarian Hall,” said Dave Hopkins, CPHS Director of Fundraising/Public Relations.
“The event is free and will feature food and a presentation about the cruise during which Carnival representatives will be available to answer any ‘cruise queries’ and share some stories about the fun, excitement and relaxation of an escorted cruise,” added Hopkins.
Interested “cruisers” must sign up for the special get together by calling Hopkins at the shelter at 942-2477 or Ketrow Travel at 695-1100.
The cruise is fully escorted and passengers will be bused to Pittsburgh on November 4 (returning on the 11th), board a plane to Miami then be transported to Carnival’s “Victory,” a 3,000 passenger superliner for the 6-night, 7-day cruise with stops in Costa Maya, Mexico; Grand Cayman and Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
A portion of the cost for the trip will go towards helping the homeless animals at the shelter. Inside cabins for the cruise start at just over $1,100 and can be paid for in installments according to trip planners. Prices include all transportation to and from the ship, based in Miami.
