Area young people are invited to do some “Super Sleuthing” this summer as the Tyrone-Snyder Public Library presents its summer reading program “Get a Clue @ Your Library”.
This program is for pre-school ages through 8th grade. The library will have great special programs, plus everyone will be able to read books for super prizes.
Registration will begin June 18, and the program will end July 28.
Some of the special programs to be held are: Penn State Forensic Dept., The Mystery of Peppermint Park with Steve Engel’s puppet zoo, Animal CSI with the “Creature Teacher” Jody Wallace, Be A Detective, Make It In Code and Disguise Yourself.
New this year is a “Baker Street Irregulars” Book Club for 4th through 8th graders. This is a mystery book club to be held Thursdays from noon to 1 p.m., with lunch and books provided. Those interested need to register by June 30 as there is a limit of 15 participants.
Also, there will be a fun activity, “Where in Tyrone is Sherlock Holmes?”. Children will hunt through the businesses of Tyrone to find where Sherlock Holmes is staying for the week.
