The Tyrone-Snyder Public Library held its closing ceremonies for the summer reading program, “Get a Clue @ Your Library”, on Thursday, August 2 at 6:30 p.m. at the library.
The program had 86 registered children, and 47 completed the reading requirements. All of those children received a certificate and a jar of Benzel\’s Pretzels, which was generously donated by Benzel\’s of Altoona.
A raffle-type drawing was held for those who completed the program for prizes that were purchased with monies received from the library’s spring quilt raffle.
Winners of these prizes were:
Read-To-Me group: Cate Baran, Alita Fernandes, Clare Fisher, Allie Grieco, Sarah Hoover, Nicholas Vasbinder, Lindsey Walk and Nathan Walk.
Readers group: Emily Baran, Katie Bowser, Sam Grieco, Caitlyn Hoover, Emma Hoover, Taylor Hoover, Madelyn Miller, Maggie Miller, Kyle Poorman, Alanna Vaglica, Eli Vaglica, Erika Voyzey, Kendra Voyzey, Mitchell Walk and Amy Yatta.
All-day ride passes to DelGrosso\’s Amusement Park were awarded to the readers of the highest number of books: Sarah Hoover – 91 books; Alita Fernandes – 60 books; Emma Hoover – 46 books; Kate Bock – 36 books and Laura Guenot – 35 books.
After the awards, a special cake, made by library board president Susan Hunter, hot dogs and drinks were enjoyed by all attending.
Program director, Judie Adams, would like to thank Mary Jane Rudakewich and Noelle Farias for their invaluable help with programming and their wonderful ideas that made this year’s program such a success!
