Throughout the month of August, Family Services Incorporated’s Supportive Services office at Evergreen Manors, the Hollidaysburg Area YMCA, and the YMCA Children’s Center will be collecting school supplies. ‑
“We are asking area residents and businesses to help provide school supplies for about 50 children at Evergreen Manors whose families cannot purchase the supplies their children need,” explained Gunter Volders, Marketing and Communications Manager for Family Services Incorporated.‑ “It is important that each child be able to blossom to their full potential in school. Having the right tools is a great start.”
Needed school supplies include: pens, pencils, erasers, notebooks, backpack, lunchboxes, calculators, etc.
Gift cards can also be used so staff can purchase exact items that are often required by the school districts.
Donations can be dropped off at the Supportive Services office at Evergreen Manors, 5928A Evergreen Court, Altoona, PA, the Hollidaysburg Area YMCA on Penn and Hewitt Street, Hollidaysburg, PA, or Family Services’ offices, 2022 Broad Avenue, Altoona, PA.
