The Tyrone Hospital Development Council invites the community to share the spirit of the holiday season and support Tyrone Hospital’s vital healthcare mission by making a donation through the Development Council’s 7th annual “Tree of Light”.
Throughout the holiday season, trees will be located in the hospital’s main lobby displaying angels purchased to remember deceased loved ones, to honor those living, or to recognize your business or organization.
Those wishing to purchase an angel may do so by submitting a donation of five dollars or more for each name being honored or remembered, and a completed Tree of Light form to the marketing office at Tyrone Hospital.
In addition to the interior trees, a lighted tree will be located in front of the hospital. The tree will be illuminated in a ceremony to be held at the hospital on Monday, December 3 at 6 p.m. with a reception to follow.
All proceeds from the Tree of Light will be used to buy several trapezius bed assemblies for the Tyrone Hospital nursing department. The trapezius bed assemblies are accessories that hang above a patient’s bed. Patients grab onto the trapeze to change their position in bed and to provide assistance to get out of bed and into a chair. The estimated cost to purchase this equipment is $3,000.
Randy Miles, Sr., Chairman of the Tyrone Hospital Development Council, said the Tree of Light is one way people can support Tyrone Hospital.
“The Tree of Light is to remind us of those we love and remember. It also symbolizes the hospital’s mission to care for the community and represents the caring spirit of many individuals, businesses, and other organizations who support their friends and neighbors by supporting Tyrone Hospital.”‑
Donations are currently being accepted for the Tree of Light which runs through the end of December.
Tree of Light gift forms are available in the main lobby of Tyrone Hospital, or by calling the hospital’s marketing office at 684-6348.
