Kourtney Swires, the new Tyrone Area School District psychologist was a recent speaker at the Tyrone Kiwanis meeting. She discussed the new program the school district is implementing called “Response to Intervention”, a three tiered model for providing intervention for children at the onset of academic or behavior problems. Currently, the school district is working with consultants from the state and Intermediate unit 8 at the elementary level to provide staff development on implementing the framework.
