The Tyrone Kiwanis Club is sponsoring a bus package for transportation to all five of the 2008 Tyrone Golden Eagle Varsity football games this year. What a great way to get to go on the road and support the Tyrone Golden Eagles as they strive for an unprecedented fourth consecutive undefeated regular season.
The Golden Eagles are on the road three out of the first four games this season. Week two to Huntington, week three to Central Mountain in Lock Haven, and week four up to Clearfield. After one game at home with Bald Eagle in week five, the Golden Eagles will make the trip to Saint Marys to play the Flying Dutchmen. The last away game will be a trip to Spring Mills to play Penns Valley.
With the cost of fuel being what it is today the Tyrone Kiwanis Club thought this would be a great way to have a community project that would assist the Tyrone football fan legion in attending all the away games at a great price.
You can get a reserved seat for all five away games for just $30.00 per person. Tickets must be gotten in advance and are on a first come first served basis. Currently there are already 14 reservations that have been taken. The bus trips will all leave from the Tyrone Area High School parking lot. Simply get your five game package, park at the high school and ride the bus to the games. You will be dropped off at the front gate. Currently the Kiwanis Club is working to try and have tickets available to distribute to everyone for the game as they are departing the bus at the game. The cost of the ticket is in addition to the bus reservation package and will be collected on the bus as you are given your ticket for the game. The bus will then pick you up right after the game for the ride home. There is no way that you can drive round trip to all five of these games with the price of fuel for under the $30.00 package. The bus will then return you right to the high school parking lot.
The bus packages are available for purchase at Bressler’s Food Mart and Sports, or by telephone by calling Pete Dutrow at 684-2523 or Bob Smith at 632-8516. All reservations are nonrefundable.
The departure times for each of the games will be listed each week in The Herald, announced each week on the return bus trip from the away game, or you may call any of the three reservation outlets above to confirm the departure time for that particular week.
The Kiwanis urges you to secure your package early as there will only be one bus that will be making the trip to these away games.
