Lost control
State police reported on January 18 a crash when Ashley R. Bakale, 22, Altoona was traveling north on SR 0550 in Warriors Mark Township when she lost control on the snow covered roadway, slid off the east berm and struck a utility pole with the passenger side of her vehicle. Bakale was transported to the Tyrone Hospital and treated for minor injuries. She was wearing her seat belt. The vehicle was towed by Cummings Motors of Altoona. Assistance at the scene was provided by Warriors Mark Vol. Fire Department. The roadway was closed for approximately two hours due to power lines across the roadway.

Throwing eggs
On January 19, state police reported a known 16-year-old juvenile threw several eggs at a 16-year-old juvenile’s vehicle. No damage was done. The incident occurred along Sunset Hills Rd. in Snyder Township.

Theft of flags
State Police in Philipsburg reported on January 21 at Fowler Grove, adjacent to W. Fowler Hollow Lane in Taylor Township an incident of theft as actor(s) removed a Pennsylvania flag, an American flag and three pole sections and fled the scene undetected. The flags were part of a memorial that was to be dedicated to the veterans of Taylor Township by the Women’s Society of the Hannah United Methodist Church in Port Matilda. Total cost of stolen items is estimated at $270. Anyone with information is asked to contact PSP Philipsburg.

Attempted burglary
Sometime on January 21, state police reported unknown actor(s) attempted to gain entry through a window to the residence of Arthur Forshey of Centreline Road in Warriors Mark. Nothing appeared to be missing from the residence.

Another attempted burglary
State police reported that over the night of January 22 someone entered Superior Lumber along Sawmill Road in Snyder Township, Tyrone, and attempted to steal truck batteries, ladder and chain oil. Police state that the investigation of the attempted burglary will continue.
