Suzi’s Scrubs and Uniforms offers friendly service and quality scrubs at low prices. It is located near the Bald Eagle intersection of Route 350 and I-99 in Tyrone.
The retail business is in its second year and is conveniently only a half hour from Altoona, State College, Philipsburg and Huntingdon along Old Route 220, and serves healthcare workers, professionals and the general public who wears scrubs.
Over 20 years of experience in retail and helping customers were two main reasons why Susan Kay Gummo chose to open Suzi’s Scrubs and Uniforms. Susan opened up her newly remodeled retail store adjacent to her home April 1, 2006.
Store hours are Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and by appointment during the week. She also exhibits scrub shows on her off days to nursing homes, hospitals, and medical facilities where scrubs are worn.
“Suzi’s Scrubs gives me the opportunity to use my experience in marketing and customer service,” said Susan. “Being open now for over two years, my customers have become returning shopper’s time and time again which I sincerely appreciate.”
Susan said that her customers enjoy buying scrubs from her business due to the fact that they can try on the scrubs and purchase them right at the store, which avoids having to order scrubs through the mail and pay for shipping and handling charges.
“There’s no substitution for convenience in today’s busy world,” explains Susan. “With inventory in hand, no hassle exchanges and no shipping charges, I hope to make buying scrubs an enjoyable experience.”
Suzi’s Scrubs and Uniforms provides a large variety of unique prints and fashionable scrubs at competitive prices from a variety of suppliers such as Dickies, Scrubeez, and Barco. Scrub tops, pants are reasonably priced at $12.99. Sets as low as $21.99.
“The prices are fantastic and cheaper than anywhere else,” noted Susan.
With Susan’s business being located at her house right outside of Tyrone, her overhead is low, which makes her able to keep scrub prices lower than other retailers.
The scrub business continues to be successful for Susan, thanks to her customers spreading the word and through local advertising. Susan’s retail experience and quality merchandise speaks for itself, but her friendly smile and customer service makes shopping at Suzi’s Scrubs an enjoyable experience.
“I enjoy talking to my customers and interacting with them,” said Susan. “My employees and I try to provide the best atmosphere possible for customers.”
