Arlene A. Bartley Walk, 71, of 328 Varo Blvd., State College, Pa. went home to be with her Lord, Thursday, March 6, 2008 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born Jan. 20, 1937 at Port Matilda, a daughter of E.B. and Helen (Runkle) Bartley.
She was formerly married to Arthur B. Walk, Sr.
Mrs. Walk is survived by two sons: Arthur B. Walk, Jr. and his fiancee Cathy Maney of Port Matilda, and Byron L. Walk and his wife Cindy J. of Tyrone. Four grandchildren: Brittany N. Walk, Matthew R. Walk (Tiffany) and Tiffanie Walk, and Tiffany Witherite. Sisters: Ruth Peters and Sue Beckwith of Port Matilda.
There are several nieces and nephews who survive also.
She was preceded in death by a sister Pauline Gemberling and brothers Byron and Dick Bartley.
She was a graduate of Port Matilda High School and attended the First Church of Christ in Philipsburg. She was an accomplished organist and loved to sing and play hymns at the Hannah United Methodist Church. She was active at Hannah Church by organizing and participating in many special programs, regular church services and youth groups.
She was employed at Brookline Manor, State College, Pa.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 10, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone with Rev. Timothy Richmond officiating. Interment will be at the Reformed & Lutheran Cemetery, Centre Hall.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. There will be a luncheon following the funeral home service at Fowler Grove, RD Port Matilda.
