Silver Creek

As summer begins so does the concert season in Tyrone. Celebrating its twenty-third year, the Tyrone Regional Arts Council recently announced seven concerts for area residents to enjoy.
This season of free concerts in Tyrone’s Reservoir Park will open with the music of a popular area country band this Sunday at Reservoir Park.
Silver Creek is an upbeat band that plays popular country music from today’s hottest hits to those classics that everybody loves.
The evening’s show will include such favorites as “Heaven Heart Aches and the Power of Love”, “Redneck Women” and “Gun Powder and Lead”, along with classic country such as Patsy Cline, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, George Jones and Merle Haggart and round out with oldies such as Del Shannon’s Run Away and Sleep Walk.
Silver Creek also plays original songs written by Mark Johnson, the guitarist and songwriter for South West.
Band members are Mark Johnson – Lead Guitar, George Isett- Rhythm Guitar,  Monica Brindle- Mandolin and Dave O’Connell on Bass.
Summer Sunday concerts begin at 6 p.m. in Tyrone’s Reservoir Park and, in the event of rain, will be held in the Lutheran Church on Logan Avenue and Thirteenth Street.
All concerts are made possible by a grant from the PA Council on the Arts, a state agency, the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency, and Tyrone Borough.
Concerts are free of charge and audience members should bring a chair or blanket for seating.
