Grier tops Lady Eagles

In a battle against local Grier School, the Tyrone Lady Eagles won two of the singles matches, but fell 5-2 at the Clay Avenue tennis courts
“As the scores show, this was a closely contested match at every position and all the girls played well,” said Tyrone tennis coach Mike Hample.
Elena Myers at the Number Three singles match, defeated Grier School’s Kelly Griffin in tiebreaker 10-7, after the duo split the first two matches, with Myers edging Griffin in the first game 6-4 then dropping the second, 1-6.
At Number Five singles, Amy Lewis decisioned Christine Stover 6-1, 7-5.
The victory was the first for Grier School after opening the season with two losses.
