Busy summer planned at Christ United Methodist Church

During June, Sunday morning worship services at Christ United Methodist Church will be broadcast on WTRN radio beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Also next month, graduating seniors will be recognized and presented with gifts during worship service on Sunday, June 1.
Please contact the church office as soon as possible to inform them of anyone who will be graduating.
On June 28, the annual church yard sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Currently, the yard sale planning committee is asking folks to start bringing items for this annual fundraiser.
They are asking for things that are “clean and in relatively good condition”.
Donated items may be brought to the church during regular office hours which are Monday through Thursday from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Items should be placed in the Scout Hall.
For more information contact Rita or Ernie Dick at 684-0718.
Looking ahead, the church is already planning Vacation Bible School which is set for Monday through Friday, July 21-25 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the church. Wesley United Methodist and First English Lutheran Church will join in the festivities.
This year’s theme is “God’s Big Backyard”.
Beginning each day at Backyard Bash, backyard buddies Stan, Cooper, Alex and Nick discover how much fun service can be and they will challenge kids to serve their families, friends, neighbors, communities and Jesus.
The children at Bible School will also experience God’s word at Backyard Bible Club, meet real life servants at Community Corner and enjoy fun-filled crafts, snacks, games and music.
Classes will be available for preschoolers, elementary students, pre-teens and teens.
More information will be release in the upcoming weeks regarding Bible School.
Other upcoming church events include the ice cream social on June 8 at 6 p.m. and the men’s breakfast in honor of Father’s Day on June 15 at 8 a.m.
Also, United Methodist Night at the Curve is set for Friday, July 18 at 7:05 p.m.
The Altoona Curve will take on the Harrisburg Senators that evening. Dave Fisher will be handing tickets for Christ UM Church. Further details will be available in the upcoming weeks.
