Annual Fishing Rodeo

The Tyrone Area Community Organization’s annual Fishing Rodeo is scheduled for April 26 at Reservoir Park, starting at 8 a.m. TACO has released a list of rules that must be followed the day of the event. Parents or guardians are reminded that any rule violation will result in automatic disqualification of your child from the trophy presentation. This is your only warning.
1. Fishing begins at 8 a.m. (at the sound of the bullhorn). The rodeo will end at 11 a.m.
2. Parents may cast for their child.
3. Parents may not hook or land any fish for their child. Special consideration may be given for age of the child landing the fish.
4. Each fish must be registered and measured by a TACO member.
5. The first five fish registered is your limit. Minimum size is seven inches.
6. Children using spinners are to be on the side of the lake closest to 15th Street.
7. Each child is eligible for only one trophy.
Trophy presentations will be at the end of the fishing rodeo at approximately 11:15 a.m. The first fish of the day and largest fish of the day trophies will be awarded as well. Trophies will be awarded in each age group for: longest fish and total inches.
Age groups for the event include: boys: one to four; five to eight; nine to 12; 13 to 15 and girls: one to four; five to eight; nine to 12 and 13 to 15.
