Women’s Club dinner dance and auction fast approaching

The members of the Women’s Club of Tyrone are again preparing to put on their dancing shoes and host their forth annual Dinner Dance and Auction to benefit the Tyrone Hospital.
This year, as in the past years, the businesses, craftsmen and corporations of Tyrone and surrounding areas are generously supporting this fundraising effort through their contributions.
The Women’s Club’s goal this year is to assist Tyrone Hospital with a renovation project that will make improvements in Tyrone Hospital’s emergency room and central patient registration by developing a separate triage and registration center to ensure patient privacy. The project will cost a minimum of $40,000.
Hospital officials have said the planned changes will make a number of improvements to departments that are the first point of contact for patients entering the hospital and those receiving care in the emergency room.
This year’s dinner dance will be held on Saturday, April 5 at 6 p.m. at the US Hotel on South Juniata Street in Hollidaysburg. Live music will be provided during the dinner hour followed by dancing. Funds will be raised via live and silent auctions held throughout the evening. Patrons will have a chance to bid on various baskets and gift certificates donated by area businesses. A live auction will end the evening.
To date the following local businesses and supporters have contributed baskets and items for the silent auction: Wendy’s Joybeans & Bakery, Martin Oil, Gardner’s Candy, Reliance Bank, Omega Bank, DelGrosso Foods, Tastefully Simple, Alice’s Garden, Colonial Courtyard of Tyrone, Richard H. The following is a partial list of items available for purchase through a live auction: PSU autographed football, golf outing, hunting rifle, jewelry, trip to Mexico, and prints from local artists Perry Winkler and Eric Feathers.
