Area man places at several ISDRA sanctioned sled dog races

Local resident and ISDRA musher Johnn Molburg has been busy in the last few months, traveling from Wisconsin to New York to New Hampshire to compete in sled dog races.
On February 3, Molburg was in Land O Lakes, Wisconsin, participating in the Three Bear Winter Race.
Molburg came out on top in the Adult Three-Dog Speed Class Skijoring race, finishing the nine mile course with a total time of 00:30:38.
He also competed in the Adult Four-Dog Speed Class Sled race, finishing sixth with a total time of 00:35:28.
On February 10, Molburg once again took first place in the Adult Three-Dog Speed Class Skijoring race, this time at the Medford Mush, in Medford, Wisconsin. His total time of the eight mile course was 00:22:20.
With a time of 00:26:35 on the same course, Molburg took fifth place in the Adult Four-Dog Speed Class Sled race.
In Merrill, Wisconsin, on February 17, Molburg participated in the Pine River Run.
With a total time of 00:29:26 he finished the nine mile course, taking second in the Adult Three-Dog Speed Class Skijoring race.
He also placed second in the Adult Four-Dog Speed Class Sled race with a time of 00:30:17.
Molburg traveled to Lorraine, New York on February 24 to participate in the Mannsville Quest Dog Derby where he placed first in both the Adult Three-Dog Speed Class Skijoring race and the Adult Four-Dog Speed Class Sled race.
Molburg finished the five mile skijoring course with a time of 00:15:08 and the 2.3 mile sled course with a total time of 00:05:44
Finally, this month, Molburg traveled to Madison, New Hampshire where he garnered two more first place wins at the Purity Spring Sled Dog Classic on March 9.
With a total time of 00:29:30 on the seven mile course, Molburg took first place in the Adult Two-Dog Speed Class Skijoring race.
He also took first in the Adult Four-Dog Speed Class Sled race with a time of 00:27:18.
The Three Bear Winter Race, Medford Mush and Pine River Run were hosted by the Wisconsin Trailblazers Sled Dog Club.
The Mannsville Quest Dog Derby was hosted by the Pennsylvania Sled Dog Club and the Purity Spring Sled Dog Classic was hosted by the New England Sled Dog Club.
The Three Bear Winter Race, Medford Mush, Pine River Run, Mannsville Quest Dog Derby and Purity Spring Sled Dog Classic were sanctioned by the International Sled Dog Racing Association and counts towards the International Championship Series for Sled Dog Racing.

Molburg travels throughout the United States and Canada to race each year.
According to his profile with the International Sled Dog Racing Association, Molburg has been racing sled dogs since 1957. He has received many national and international awards and medals throughout his career.
The ISDRA website currently lists Molburg ranked second in the Adult Skijoring Three-Dog Speed Class, with a total of 354.59 points, 19.77 points behind the leader.

The ISDRA was formed in 1966 by Canadian and American mushers to organize and unify the sport of sled dog racing. Today, ISDRA annually represents over 100 days of sled dog racing and thousands of individual race performances. Competitions are held for adult and junior divisions and team sizes range from unlimited to one-dog. Racing action begins in mid-October and ends in late March with multiple ISDRA sanctioned events occurring on any given weekend during January and February. Annual membership averages 850 with 55 to 75 sanctioned events.
