What a winter creation!

Mrs. Jamison’s K4 class created an igloo out of milk jugs. Over 230 milk jugs were used to create the igloo. An ice fishing pond was created with extra milk jugs that were collected. The igloo and fishing pond coincide with their unit on Polar animals and the arctic. Tyrone Area School District is one of a few districts in the area that offers its residents free pre-school. Tyrone Elementary Early Childhood Center is made possible by federal and state grants, Title I and Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts. These grants are used to provide high quality early education to children in the center. Research shows that children who have high quality early childhood experiences are more likely to be prepared for school, be better students and graduate high school. (Courtesy photo)
