Mildred J. Loose

Mrs. Mildred J. Loose, age 87, a guest at Epworth Manor and formerly of 2 W. 11th Street, Tyrone died Friday, December 14, 2007 at 4 a.m. at the Manor. She was born December 1, 1920 in Warriors Mark, the daughter of Robert Milton and Esther C. Weyer Mattern. On November 14, 1940 at Cumberland, MD she was married to Leon P. Loose who preceded her in death September 10, 2000. She is survived by three daughters, Bonnie Colpetzer (Raymond), Tyrone; Judith Woodring (William), Hershey and Cindy Loose (husband Bruce Alpert), Bethesda, MD and seven grandchildren – Karen Adam, Melissa Harpster, Kevin Colpetzer, Leslie Miller, Madeline Alpert, Dawn Ann Woodring and Julie Neal; nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a stepson, William Loose, a grandchild Allen Loose, two brothers, Robert and Eugene and two sisters Catherine Bonsell and Dorothy Eberhardt.
She was a member of the Altoona Bible Church, had taught a children’s Sunday School Class and enjoyed babysitting and working with children. During World War II she was employed by the John R. Wald Co. and later at the F&F Dry Cleaners and enjoyed her role as a homemaker.
Funeral service for Mildred J. Loose will be Monday, December 17, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc. with Pastor Stewart McClelland officiating. Interment will follow in Seven Stars Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.
