Rose M. Turiano

Rose M. Turiano, 85, of Graystone Court, 1700 Hamilton Ave., Tyrone, died Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at Altoona Regional Health System-Altoona Hospital Campus.
She was born May 7, 1922 in Tyrone a daughter of Charles and Santa (Germino) Caffarelli. On March 2, 1946 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Tyrone she married Santo P. Turiano. He died April 21, 2005.
She is survived by three sons, Vincent C. and wife Elizabeth of Hollidaysburg, Stephen P. of Tyrone, Mark R. and wife Nicole Fedeli of Hollidaysburg, six grandchildren, John McGregor, Shannon Beckwith, Wesley Turiano, Megan Turiano, Mariah Turiano and Celena Turiano and two great-grandchildren, Elle and John Robert McGregor. She was the last of her immediate family being preceded in death by a son Ronald S., three brothers, Joseph, Charles and Frank, a sister Pauline and a daughter-in-law Marie (Ashcroft) Turiano.
Mrs. Turiano retired in 1986 from Dr. Samuel Lake Dental Office as Dental Assistant following 26 years service. She was previously employed at Big Yank, Tyrone as machine operator for 18 years.
She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, Court St. Rita, Tyrone Historical Society and the Tyrone Hospital Auxiliary.
Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, December 1, 2007 at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew Church. with Fr. Joseph T. Orr celebrant. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Feller Memorial Home on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Wake services and Rosary will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 8:30 p.m.
