Robert Joseph Almy

Robert Joseph Almy, age 88, of Lawrenceville, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2007. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2007 at Bethesda United Methodist Church. Rev. Jim Cabaniss and Dr. Elizabeth McCormick will officiate.
Visitation afterward in the Church Fellowship Hall.
Born August 21, 1919 in Philadelphia, Pa. to Roebling B. and Anna M. Almy, Mr. Almy enlisted in the United State Army September 12, 1940, served with the 52nd Fighter Squad in North Africa, Corsica and Italy and was discharged May 1, 1945. He worked for Bethlehem Steel and retired in 1977. Mr. Almy moved to Lawrenceville in 1997 to be close to his family.
He was a charter member of Task Force Patriot and a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Adair Peary Almy, who he married July 14, 1945.
Other survivors include: sons and wives, Stephen and Sandra Almy, Lawrenceville; Barry and Betsy Almy, Pittsburgh; proud grandfather of Travis and wife Jessie Almy, Marietta; Autumn and husband Josh Slatky, Lubbock, TX; Logan and wife Natalie Almy, St. Louis, MO; Trevor and wife Katie Almy, Mobile, AL; one great-grandson: Austin Travis Almy.
