Local trio survives in D-6 golf

After the first day of the District-6 golf tournament, a pair of Hollidaysburg golfers lead the way. Sean Brannon has a three stroke lead over Tiger teammate Anthony DeGol and Somerset’s Joe Zuravnsky and Penn Cambria’s Will McMahon.
Brannon carded a 74 on the course at the Scotch Valley Country Club, on Monday, with DeGol, Zuravnsky and McMahon three shots back with 77s.
All three local golfers are still alive. Surviving the cut, which was at 86, were Tyrone’s Jimmy Ferguson (79), Bellwood-Antis’ Tom Trexler (83) and Tyrone’s Ryan Ruscio (86).
The finals begin this morning at 10 a.m. at Scotch Valley.
The top six golfers after today, will advance to the regional tournament at Blairsville, as well as the winning team.
The regional event is held at Tom’s River Golf course in Blairsville.
