Tuskovich leads Tyrone golfers over Bellwood

Tyrone golfers moved to 8-0-1 to keep their unbeaten conference record intact. They did so with a convincing win over rival Bellwood-Antis Blue Devils, by tying their season low of 330, to Bellwood\’s score of 390.
Bellwood-Antis pulled a out a conference win at the same time by edging out Penn\’s Valley squad by eight shots.
Jason Tuscovich recorded medalist honors for the Tyrone linksters with a score of 77. Close behind was steady Jimmy Ferguson posting a 79. Ryan Ruscio was third low for the day posting 85, and fourth low score on the day was posted by Bellwood-Antis\’ Tom Trexler at 88. The Golden Eagles fourth scorer to reach the 330 mark was Eric Loose with a score of 89, Kyle Updyke scored an 91 and the sixth position for the Eagles was Matt Brooks with 93.
“I think our guys are doing well coming into our final league matches this Thursday, against Central and Huntingdon,” said Tyrone golf Coach Greg Ferguson. “We have had some real surprises the past two weeks. Juniors Eric Loose and Kyle Updyke have really improved, we have six guys who can break into the four needed scores, all the pressure is not on just four guys. If they have a bad day, one of the other guys will pick them up. We are going to work hard to keep the undefeated season alive, and then move to the league championships on September 27.
“I feel good about our chances, but we will need to put in a good solid week of range work if we want to win the championship. At this point it is up to the guys, if they want it , they will put in the extra to get the job done. The kids really want this, especially our seniors. It would be a nice way to finish their high school golf careers. I think they just might get it done!”
