The Three for the Road Walk-a-thon is slated for this weekend.

Registration for the event will begin at 1 p.m. on Sunday and step-off is set for 2 p.m. at Legion Park in Hollidaysburg.
Interested individuals can contact Julie Kyle-Newberry at 932-5218 or email Those registering early will receive a t-shirt.
Local artist, Dion Dillon, created a specially designed stained glass ‘ribbon’ to commemorate this event.
Dillon put together 30 of the keepsakes for this weekend’s program.
Besides the walk-a-thon ribbons, Dillon has also been asked to create two larger pink ribbons, representing breast cancer awareness. The pink ribbons will hang in the windows at Your Perfect Fit, a new Centre County business specializing in professional bra-fitting, control undergarments and sleepwear. The new store is located on the diamond in Boalsburg and carries a wide range of designer and custom undergarments along with bath, body and skin care essentials.
For anyone interested in learning to make their own stained glass creations, Dillon offers classes at his shop, Djday’s Stained Glass, located along Cooks Hollow Road in Snyder Township.
Inexpensive, six week beginner classes on the skills of creating stained glass are now being offered.
The cost of the course is $42. There is limited space, so classes usually consist of three people. Beginners in Dillon’s class create a beautiful lamp shade.
Students will also need to purchase a basic glass cutter, glass for the lamp, solder, flux, foil and a lamp base (optional). All items needed for classes are available for purchase at the studio.
Studio hours are Wednesdays from 6-9 p.m., and other days by appointment.
