Harold R. Yingling, Sr.

Harold R. Yingling Sr., 78, of Bellwood, graduated to heaven on Wednesday evening, September 12, 2007 at his residence.
He was born July 23, 1929 in Blandburg, the son of the late Samuel C. and Laura Belle (Zimmerman) Yingling.
He was of Christian faith and worked in the trucking industry for 26 years then retired from PPG Industries as a skilled laborer.
In 1947 he graduated from Reade Township High School in Ferndale, Pa.
He was a Korean Conflict Army veteran, who served as a radio operator in Germany.
He was an artist and avid accomplished guitar player who loved playing with several musicians for residents of local nursing homes in Altoona and Bellwood. He enjoyed reading, attending festivals and concerts, also spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by daughters, Cathy Smith of State College and Mary Jo Phelan and husband Peter of Harrisburg; sons, John and wife Brenda of State College, Tim and wife Carmel of Pottsville, Harold Jr. and wife Traci of Swansboro, NC and Dan and wife Holly of Apex, NC; a sister, Patty Lazur of Lexington, Kentucky; brothers, Joe of Lakeside, California, Bob of Hollidaysburg and Gene of Blandburg; 14 grandchildren, Kristina and husband Roy Sapp, Brian Yingling, Kara and Michaela Smith, Nathaniel and Christian Yingling, Lindsey and Kaitlyn Yingling, Sean, Jill, Sara, Anna and Kaci Phelan, Bryson Yingling and a great-grandson, Brendon Sapp.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine (Sis) and brothers, Oliver, Clair, Donald and Richard Yingling.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at Vincent J. Good Funeral Parlor, Bellwood.
Funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Interment at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow.
