Rawlings wins at Chautauqua

The Tyrone BassMasters held their fifth tournament of the season at Chautauqua Lake in New York on July 28-29.
Randy Rawlings of Mill Creek, won for the second consecutive tournament with an impressive performance. Rawlings weighed in his five-fish limit on both days for a total weight of 31.83 pounds. He averaged 3.183 pounds per fish for the total event.
Rawlings also broke the single tournament weight record by .86 pounds. Metz Weko of Water Street previously held the record when he weighed in a 10-fish limit of 30.97 pounds also at Chautauqua Lake in 2003.
Jim Kaspick of Tyrone, placed second after weighing five fish limits each day for a total weight of 18.82 pounds. Kaspick and Rawlings were teamed up for the tournament. Together, they weighed in a total of 50.65 pounds of fish.
Third place fell to Jay Knight of Boalsburg, with five fish limits each day for a total weight of 16.04 pounds. Bill Keough of Pennsylvania Furnace, took fourth place with a total weight of 15.86 with six fish, averaging over two pounds per fish.
Big Dan Garber of Tyrone, ;landed the lunker Bass for Saturday with a 3.89 largemouth bass, while Rawlings landed the lunker for Sunday with a 4.16 bigmouth bass.
The attendees for the tournament numbered an even dozen club members and one guest. As a whole, the Tyrone BassMasters weighed in 84 bass for an impressive total weight of 160.44 pounds. Rawlings maintained his points lead for the club with his win.
The next event will be a night tournament on Raystown Lake, on Friday Aug. 10, beginning at 8 p.m.
