Area benefit dinner scheduled

A local business is organizing a benefit dinner to help two local children.
Nahid Marketing of Warriors Mark, is sponsoring a benefit dinner with a silent auction on Friday, June 8 at the Casino at Lakemont Park. The reception begins at 6:30 p.m. and dinner begins at 7 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the children of the late Beth Sprankle.
Beth Sprankle was fatally shot in February 2007 in the parking lot of the day care center in the Greenwood section of Altoona, when she was transporting her children to the day care center.
She was shot by the father of her two children, who took his own life immediately after shooting her. The two children, four-year-old Brandon and three-year-old Christian, are now without both of their parents and are being raised by Sprankle’s parents, Tyrone area residents.
Included with the semi-formal dinner will be dancing and entertainment by Jerry Carnicella and his White Shadow Band, along with a silent and live auction. There will also be a cash bar.
Individuals who would like to sponsor a centerpiece can do so by donating $30 per centerpiece. Please make checks for this to Alice’s Garden.
Tickets for this fundraiser are $25. Please make checks payable to Nahid Marketing. Please send all checks to Maria Beyer, Nahid Marketing, 1094 Reese Road, Warriors Mark, PA 16877. People wishing to attend are asked to RSVP by Thursday, May 31.
To donate items for the silent auction, contact Beyer at 632-7925. All items for the silent and live auctions must be donated by Monday, May 28.
