Tyrone seventh graders blast Hollidaysburg

Tyrone\’s seventh grade boys basketball team visited the Roosevelt Junior High School Thursday evening, Dec. 7, to meet up with the Hollidaysburg Golden Tigers.
Both teams matched up in man to man defense.
JD Dorminy had the hot hand early in the game for the Eagles pouring in six points off some key turnovers at the 10-minute mark of the first half.
Tyrone changed defense and pressured the Tigers into countless turnovers with a full court pressure defense and lead 20-11 at the half.
Kaleb Chronister led the Eagles defensively with steals and rebounds while Nick Patton hit the glass hard with a strong effort inside contributing six points.
Offensively, Richard Crabtree took care of the rock most of the game dishing out five assists and nine points.
Steve Franco led the scoring with 12 points and Jared Schaffer got on the board with four.
Tyrone played an excellent defensive game and out conditioned the Tigers.
All players contributed to their second victory in as many games with Tyrone getting the victory 40-23.
The Eagles have a bye December 14 in the Rough Rider League but pick up the action Saturday, Dec. 16 in a 5:00 p.m. tipoff with Biship Guilfoyle at the Building II in Altoona.
