Christmas Lighting Fund Appeal under way

With the holiday season fast approaching, the Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for its annual “Christmas Lighting Fund Appeal” to bring the community another year of fantastic decorations, lights and festivities.
In the past years, with the help of generous donations from the community, the Chamber of Commerce was able to light the streets of Tyrone. Past support has made possible the purchase of stars, bows and two sky liners. It is the Chamber’s hope to continue with the tradition of making the Tyrone community a centerpiece of northern Blair County by again decorating the beautiful community for the \\\”Holiday Season\\\”.
This year, the Chamber has purchased 22 Holiday Banners to add to the 19 banners purchased last year. These banners will be located on Penna. Avenue and 10th Street as well as intersections throughout the downtown area.
The “Christmas Lighting Fund” is only one of many ways that the Chamber of Commerce shows its commitment to the enhancement of the community.
By making a monetary donation to the “Christmas Lighting Fund”, everyone can make a difference in the life of the people of Tyrone. There is a coupon that runs throughout the holiday season in The Daily Herald. Just clip the coupon out of the paper and send it in with a donation for Christmas Lighting to the Chamber office or contact Rose Black at the Chamber at 684-0736 for more information.
Jennifer Bryan is the chairperson for the Christmas Lighting Committee.
