Chamber announces annual Thanksgiving dinner

It’s once again time for the annual Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce Thanksgiving sit-down dinner.
It will come in the form of a Business After Hours event, which is scheduled for Thursday, November 16 from 5:15 p.m. to 7 p.m., hosted by The Daily Herald, Bull Pen and the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home. The event will be held at the Bull Pen Restaurant.
Bring business cards for the door prizes that will be awarded. Tickets are $5 per person prepaid at the Chamber office.

Also, the Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce has announced its latest Lunch-n-Learn.
The event is scheduled for Tuesday, November 21 at Burley’s Restaurant from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The presentation will be by Ann Brown. Ann works for the PA Department of Labor and Industry, Unemployment Compensation Tax Services. She is currently the tax office manager of the Altoona Field Accounting Office, which serves employers in the Blair, Bedford, Huntingdon and Centre counties. Her duties are to ensure that employers comply with all aspects of the PA U.C. Law that includes collection of delinquent taxes, reviewing audits conducted by the tax agents in her office, and establishing/maintaining employer’s accounts.
She has been employed by the Department for over 19 years, of which 9 has been as Tax Office Manager. Ann is a 1981 graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.
The presentation will include “Preparing For Your UC Audit and Other Essential Tidbits”.
Also, Randy Liddle from Labor Law Compliance will be attending the event to talk about the minimum wage changes and also the mandatory posters required by the Bureau.
