Lady Eagles lose at P-O in junior high basketball

Last night Tyrone played a basketball game that was more like a football game which featured over 45 fouls combined. Before the smoke cleared five girls had fouled out including leading scorer Marah Hawes who had 16 points before exiting in the third period at Philipsburg against the Lady Mounties.
Tyrone fell behind early and trailed 21-4 after one period but Hawes had a career day in the second period with 12 points as the Lady Eagles cut the lead to seven by halftime.
Both teams came out flying in the third but Hawes committed her 5th foul with three minutes to go in the third and left with Tyrone down by three. Ashley Ford and Casey Baird followed her and Philipsburg-Osceola pulled away for a 48-37 victory.
Baird contributed nine points to help the cause.
Tyrone\’s \”B\” team lost a close one 27-23, with Baird leading Tyrone with 14 points.
Tyrone, now 4-13 on the year, travels to State College for a game with Our Lady of Victory on Monday.
